Change of Plans!

Good news all, we are actually going home tonight.

Nick does not want to stay overnight in the hospital again. And we are doing whatever it is that he would like to do!

If anyone would like to visit Nick at the house, you are welcome anytime.

Just go up Division past Haggen's, turn left on Sioux, then right on Shoshone.

  1. Glad you're home Michal! I'll be over to visit sometime soon. Missed you by less than an hour at the hospital, I think.
    Love to all of you!

  2. Sorry I missed you today, but I got to visit with your wonderful children...see you tomorrow I will be up to visit.... sending you bear hugs!
    love ya,

  3. Dear Nick & Sandra,

I just want to talk straight.
Nick I have been so blessed to have known you through out life. You have inspired so many people. You will truly never know how much or who's life you touched. Thank you for being my "first" boyfriend sooo many years ago :-) Everywhere I turn, people are talking about you and praying for you and your family. Sandra, I just walked this exact journey. Not with my husband but with my Mom. I feel like I am holding your hand through every single detail. I've been there. Every procedure, hours in the "chemo lounge", Doctors, nurse staff, injections, Xeloda, fluid extraction and Hospice. Be with your family, be with Nick and don't hesitate to cut visitors off. This time is so precious and you can't rewind it so embrace it. Cherish every day, hour and minute that you have together.
Love to you all and especially you Nick!!!! We will see you again my friend.

  4. Nick,
I am so glad I was able to see you tonight, even though it was standing room only in your room!! Through everything you have been handed throughout life you are still a man of grace, humor, class and always seem to make everyone feel like they are the important one in the room. We all have so much to learn from you. You are a true inspiration to so many. And I know that I am very proud to have you as such a dear friend. You hold a very special place in my heart.

  5. Hi!
So glad to have been able to visit this week at the hospital. Nick, you are an amazing treasure to so many people. You have touched more lives than you even know with your kindness, humor, sensitivity, and integrity. Sandra, you are a pillar of strength and graciousness. Michal, so happy to hear that you are here. I would love to see you, you too, are an amazing inspiration. My heart is with your entire family every waking moment. Patsy, I just want to hug you-my heart is with you. My faith in the Lord has been my "rock" over these many years, and I pray for you all many times daily. I pray that you will draw near to your loving Father in heaven who loves each of you sooo much and wants to hold and shelter you in the palm of His hand. This verse from Psalm is for you: "I desire to dwell in the shelter of You, the Most High. I will REST in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of You, Lord, "You are my REFUGE and my FORTRESS, my God, in whom I trust." (Psalm 91:1-2). Peace be with each of you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon each of you!
    Much Love,

  6. Michal, My thoughts are with you...Your brother, his wife... The fear, the unknown, the "Whys" that you can't ask but do... I so clearly remember when the hospice nurse called me about Mike. I think I puked during the conversation. My heart hurts for the hurt you guys are all experiencing. It is tragic for such a wonderful soul like your brother to be facing this. You are all in my thoughts... If his wife ever wanted to call and talk to someone who understands her fears...just all of it. I did find it very comforting when I found someone my age going through what I was... Healthy, strong spirited men being torn up by cancer...
Anyway, It is tough... and my heart hurts for the helplessness you probably sometimes feel....God give me the strength to accept the things I can not change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference. Peace, Becky Goad
